Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 09, 2011

Jason Chambers announced today the formation and official arrival of Apex Sports Agency (http://www.ApexSportsAgency.com), a top-tier sports marketing, entertainment and media agency set to redefine the professional representation process of today’s mixed martial artists (MMA)

Specializing in attracting and retaining world class fighters in its initial phase, Apex Sports Agency brings to the forefront numerous unique talents including building and securing brand(s) for its clients, acquiring and managing sponsorships for media placement – and assessing the finer details to benefit its clients within promotions and events. Going above and beyond the normal call of duty is the mission, with career development and longevity the key objective and primary concern.

The tremendous appeal for an agency of this nature comes from the numerous vantage points its team has seen and experienced firsthand. From competitor, coach and corner man, to professional fight analysis and color commentary, to even documenting the very history of the sport as television host, ASA Founder and CEO Jason Chambers himself knows exactly what it takes to ensure a fighter’s skills and talents are utilized to the fullest.

“The unique insight and unmatched industry experience we possess gives our clients tremendous confidence in our services. Having been involved in the sports since its inception, no where will you find such a wealth of knowledge and strict attention to detail,” said Chambers. “Our team has a clear and crucial understanding of what successful client representation entails. From A to Z, all perspectives are in place to ensure our athletes’ best interests are at heart and met with extreme precision and care.”

With an aggressive, selective approach, proven business model and extremely knowledgeable and experienced agent roster, Apex Sports Agency brings to the table a vast array of devoted marketing efforts to ensure optimal success for all of its athletes in every campaign. With their solid industry relationships, extensive networking abilities and unmatched passion for the number one sport in the world today, what particularly sets ASA apart from the competition is their ability to focus on building a fighter’s brand far beyond single fights.

“Analyzing the finer details while offering superior guidance in terms of smart sponsorships and rewarding endorsements is our primary mission,” said Jeff Haugen, Director of Marketing. “As the number one sport in the world continues to push forward, Apex Sports Agency integrates a new level of strategic forward thinking that will play a crucial role in both the financial and career successes of every athlete we represent.”

Apex Sports Agency seems well-positioned to revolutionize the way today’s athletes progress into the future. With tremendous respect and pride for the sport of MMA, alongside an intense passion for every athlete and project pursued, Apex Sports Agency aims to leave its footprint as a world leader in sports agency marketing.

Andrew is a native New Yorker, born in New York City and spending most of his childhood life in Long Island. He has been extremely passionate for both competition and martial arts his entire life. From a very young age, Andrew wanted to learn everything there was to learn about the sport. He started training Karate early on, which snowballed into wrestling in high school and college, putting him on course to begin a Professional MMA career by nineteen. Andrew has always felt the best way to learn a business is not just by simply going to school, but rather getting crucial hands on experience.

A very business minded and entrepreneurial person, he slowly figured out how to manage himself in his fight career. Seeing the advantages of social media and marketing at a young age, he made countless connections with promoters and managed to book over forty-five Mixed Martial Arts bouts for himself, Amateur and Professional. In 2006, Andrew was able to land himself a two-fight contract with the Zuffa owned promotion, Strikeforce. He still competes professionally and is the current National Fighting Championships Middleweight Champion.

Andrew has always taken on many business ventures associated with martial arts and fitness. He managed a highly successful Long Island Martial Arts studio from 2006-2009 before breaking away to start his own fight promotion, New York Fight Club. NYFC enjoyed success for the three years it ran, with countless sellouts and helping to bring Pro Muay Thai to Long Island. Being that Mixed Marital Arts is illegal in New York, he gave fans an alternative by pitting Pro and Amateur Mixed Martial Arts fighters against eachother in Kickboxing, Muay Thai and San Da.

With an abundance of experience and a mind saturated with Mixed Martial Arts knowledge, Andrew is a valuable asset to APEX Sports Agency.

Jason has also been recognized for his leadership skills and ability to produce profits in the health and fitness field. He was awarded “Manager of the year” 2001 by Bally’s Total Fitness. While working in the health club sector, Jason oversaw a team of a dozen employees and was directly responsible for the growth and profitability of the club. Jason would later go on to leave Bally’s to join Crunch Fitness as the youngest sales director within the company. Having created marketing plans and innovative corporate alliances, he would once again exceed expectations and be promoted to regional sales director inside of 12 months where he would oversee a $30 million dollar budget and 44 employees.

You recently won your UFC debut on 5 days notice, an impressive feat -Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Clifford Starks I enjoy life and all the wonderful things life has to offer! As a kid I was on the overweight side and started to participate in sports to help keep me active and get the weight off as well. Ever since then I have enjoyed the competitiveness and the discipline need to be an athlete.

Why did you get involved with mixed Martial Arts?

Having a background in wrestling (ASU) and being a competitive athlete. It is also a great way to keep you focused on a goal and helps to keep you feeling good

Tell us about your time at ACS (Arizona Combat Sports) and what lead you to them.

I have been having a great time training out of Arizona Combat Sports and they have improved my game in all areas. I first came to ACS because they were known as one of the best schools in AZ and had amazing training partners

What is it like fighting in the UFC for the first time?

It was an honor to fight for the number one organization in MMA. I put in a lot of time to get to where I am and the work paid off. It was everything I thought it would be. They treat their fights very well; my first experience was amazing!

What lies ahead for Clifford?

Continue to train and improve and do everything in my power to get to the top! I want the UFC belt but actions speak louder than words so I will have to continue to improve upon my skill sets if I want to touch that gold!

How did you get involved in MMA?

I started wrestling and grappling in the mid-nineties, first in middle and high school wrestling and then judo, jiujitsu, submission. Moved to Brazil in 1998, where I finished my last two years of high school. Upon graduation, I used the money my dad had saved for my college tuition and traveled to Thailand in 2000, not satisfied with a couple months, I went back then next year to stay much longer and fight there. In 2002 I moved to Texas to train with Yves Edwards. He was the best 155 fighter on the planet at the time, at least in my eyes. So I started coming in whenever I could, and he said he thought I was ready and he could get me a couple of fights. I started fighting pro mma that year and haven’t stopped since. I dont know why I started though. I just love the competition of high level pro mma, there is no other sport that demands and rewards as much.

You have wins over some very impressive talent, what fight are you the most proud of?

Most proud of, hmmm… Probably Meca 12 or Storm Samurai 11, both of them I was brought in to lose, as the “gringo” duck. Special victories in my mind.

The gringo named NEO! How did you get that nickname anyway?

LOL. Yeah, Yves when he met me, he always puts playful nicknames on all the guys and one day, he just started calling me by it and it stuck.

What do you find to be the most difficult part of being a fighter?

Just trying to balance all the parts of what goes into an awesome performance(training with right people and camp, periodizing and peaking, smooth trim-down and weight-cut, logistics week of, etc.) with also trying to be the best father that I can for my little man and be able to raise him well and give him the attention he deserves from me as well. Just the normal day-to-day for myself and some other pro’s that I know who are parents.

The UFC has grown exponentially in the past 10 years, once you get in the mix is there anyone in particular you would like to fight?

No one really comes to mind but I always shoot for the stars and would love to tangle with the top ten guys in there. I am realistic though and realize I would have to start out on a prelim. I dont know though. I think I match up well with Cerrone or Etim.

You vs Cowboy would be a barn burner! Thanks for the time- the floor is yours.

Thanks to all of my fans, friends and supporters out there, I will never give up trying to break into the big show and show everyone what I can do. My sponsors who always help me out: In Brazil, Mr. Vita Nutricao Esportiva, Academia Unique, RFT/RKT, Cerrado MMA, 2Brothers, Constrictor Team and Pezom. In the US, Jason from Ammotogo.com, Juan Cabrera from Superchango Tattoo, Proformance Mouthguards, Bart at Primal Iron and Paradigm Training Center for giving me great Wrestling and Live-go’s and Saul is my head trainer at the Metro Fight Club in Houston.
